Victor M. Cairo

Vice president - CEO ArcelorMittal Mexico

Victor started his career at Caterpillar in 1986 within engineering, operations & planning before moving to Prolec GE as its plant manager in 1997. He joined the group as general manager Dofasco de Mexico in 2000 and played a key role in the evolution of the business, from project stage to a mature and well-diversified business. In 2013 he was appointed as chief executive officer of ArcelorMittal Mexico, vice president of ArcelorMittal and member of the ArcelorMittal management committee. Since then his focus has been to re-orient the steel and mining businesses to integrate them and make them more efficient, seeking operational excellence in all processes and thereby ensuring the company's financial and strategic results. His commitment to growing the business in Mexico materialised in a new hot strip mill, also investments for mining.

Victor holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical and electrical engineering from Universidad Regiomontana, an MBA from Instituto Tecnologico y Estudios Superiores de Monterrey and advanced studies in Top Management skills & leadership at IPADE.
